Bellator 293 Brings Heavyweight Showdown Golm vs James and More!

On Friday, March 31, Bellator MMA returns with another thrilling event, Bellator 293: Golm vs James, live from the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, CA. This stacked event will feature an epic main event between two of the heavyweight division’s most dangerous strikers, No. 7 ranked Marcelo Golm and No. 8 ranked Daniel James.

Golm (10-3) is a Brazilian fighter known for his striking prowess, with eight of his ten victories coming by way of knockout. He made his Bellator debut in October 2021, defeating Travis Wiuff via first-round TKO. With a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Golm is also comfortable on the ground and can finish fights with submissions. James (14-6-1), on the other hand, is a British fighter who has been on an impressive four-fight win streak since joining Bellator in 2020. With a background in boxing, James is a skilled striker who has also shown an ability to take fights to the ground and finish them with submissions.

In the co-main event, No. 1 ranked women’s featherweight Cat Zingano (13-4) will face off against No. 4 ranked Leah McCourt (7-2) in what promises to be a high-stakes matchup. Zingano is a former UFC bantamweight title challenger and has competed at the highest level of the sport for over a decade. McCourt, a Northern Irish fighter, is a rising star in the women’s featherweight division, with four wins in her last five fights.

Also on the main card, No. 3 ranked middleweight John Salter (18-6) will take on No. 7 ranked Aaron Jeffrey (13-3) in a matchup between two skilled grapplers. Salter is a submission specialist with a whopping 16 wins by submission, while Jeffrey is known for his powerful striking and has finished 11 of his 13 victories by knockout.

In a welterweight showdown, Jaleel Willis (16-4) will face off against Rustam Khabilov (24-4), a Dagestani fighter with a background in Sambo.
