Benson Henderson takes on Islam Mamedov at Bellator 273

Benson Henderson (28-11) is set to take on Islam Mamedov (20-1-1) in the lightweight co-main event at Bellator 273. The promotion made this announcement on Tuesday (Dec. 28).
This event will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The main event will air live on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET while the prelims will air live on FightBook MMA at 7 p.m. ET.
Henderson, fighting out of Glendale, Arizona, hasn’t won a fight for more than two years. He lost by decision to Jason Jackson, and also to former lightweight champion Brent Primus at Bellator 268. His opponent Mamedov, fighting out of Jersey City, New Jersey, has heen undefeated since 2010 wirh his recent victory against Primus at Bellator 263: Pitbull vs. McKee.
Also on the main card, Henry Corrales (19-6) will take on Aiden Lee (10-5) at featherweight. On the prelims, Romero Cotton (5-0) meets Dalton Rosta (5-0) at middleweight while Ben Parrish (5-1) will take on Sullivan Cauley (2-0) at light heavyweight.
