BKFC 4: Travis Thompson Isn’t Familiar With Opponent, Ivan Rocka and Doesn’t Care, Eyeing Redemption and Championship Gold

In just over one weeks time, Bare Knuckle FC 4 goes live from Cancun, Mexico, where Travis Thompson (0-1 in BKB) will look to find redemption, and begin a new path to championship gold.

Coming up short at the promotions debut event on June 2nd, 2018, Thompson is ready to prove all the “doubters, judges and everyone around the world” that he is a force to be reckoned with. More than happy to prove it in enemy territory.

FightBook MMA spoke with Travis ahead of his PPV bout, and he details his prior performance, up-and-coming fight, and goals for 2019.

“[I] just want to let my hands go. I didn’t let my hands go last time, and I let Reggie [Barnett] control the pace, so I will not do that this time. This is my fight, I will bring it to him [Ivan Rocka] and there’s nothing he will be able to do. I want to prove to all of the doubters, judges and everyone in the world that I am someone to be reckoned with, and I will redeem myself not only in this fight but throughout the rest of my time in this sport. I plan on getting the belt and for people to see the real Animal!!

Ivan Rocka, who will be representing Mexico, will welcome Thompson to Cancun on Feb. 2nd, and while he will be entering enemy territory, Travis plans on “destroying him on his home turf”.

“Absolutely not (when asked about if fighting on enemy soil will effect his mindset in anyway), I enjoy fighting in other people’s backyards because it’s their fight to lose. There’s no pressure on me, I plan on destroying him on his home turf ,that’s pressure he has to deal with, not me. I also don’t really have any thoughts of my opponent nor do I care. I haven’t checked him out, don’t care to. When it comes to fight time I will be more than prepared, and I plan on going through him. Nothings going to stop me.”

Having now been apart of BKFC’s inaugural event, and now their first international venture, Thompson is excited, humbled, and honored to represent his country (USA) in Mexico.

I am very excited and humbled to be a part of the very first international show. It’s a great honor to be able to represent my country, and I will not be taking lightly. I want the world to know that USA has the toughest and hardest working fighters out there.

Coming into the new year, after suffering a 0-1 bare knuckle boxing record in 2018, it was clear what Travis Thompson is looking for ahead of his up-and-coming bout.

My only goals for 2019 are absolute redemption and to be champ. Nothing less.
