TAMPA, FLA.: Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) returned Saturday night at Florida State Fairgrounds Entertainment Hall in Tampa, Fla.
In the main event of BKFC 8, fight fans saw Gabriel Gonzaga knock out Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a heavyweight bout. In the second round, Gonzaga landed a right hand that dropped Silva, he did get up and appeared to never fully recover. Gonzaga saw the opportunity and took advantage as he started landing a combination of shots that knocked down Silva a second time. At that point, referee Wayne Spinola stopped the fight at the 1:50 mark. In the co-main event, Jim Alers knocked out Julian Lane in a 155-pound bout. During the second round, Alers landed a right uppercut that dropped Lane. He did get up and continued but Alers made quick work and started landing punches where referee Bill Clancy stopped the fight at the 53-second mark.
Fight fans also saw Dat Nguyen take on Travis Thompson in a five-round bout where Nguyen controlled the fight landing more punches. He won the bout by unanimous decision with a score of 50-45, 50-45, 49-46. Abdiel Velazquez started the fight very quickly against Rick Caruso. Velazquez was able to stun Caruso with a left in the opening bell sending Caruso to the mat. Velazquez continued landing his left hand and scored a second knockdown towards the end of round one. Velazquez started the round the same way he did in round one and dropped Caruso. Referee Wayne Spinola had seen enough and stopped the fight at the 11-second mark.
Lorenzo Hunt won his bout via a technical knockout over Reggie Pena. Pena did suffer an early cut over his left eyes also a noticeable hematoma on his right eyebrow which ultimately leading to a medical stoppage with the ringside physician calling an end to the bout at 2:00 minutes in of round three. Delaney Owen also won by a technical knockout over Sheena Starr. Owen scored a knockdown midway through the second round. Starr made it back to her feet but she elected to go back down and the fight was waved off at the 1:01 mark. Joey Angelo faced Walber Barros in a five-round bout that went the distance with Angelo winning via split-decision with a score of 48-47 & 49-46 for Angelo, 48-47 for Barros.

To start off the pay-per-view we saw Dave Mundell facing Ronnie Forney. Mundell scored two knockdowns against Forney. The second knockdown was too much and the fight was stopped at the 1:09 mark of the second round. In off-pay-per-view undercard bout, Gustavo Trujillo was just too much for Robert Morrow right from the start flooring Morrow twice and knocking him out at the 35-second mark of the first round. Jared Warren was knocked down early in the first round and he was able to recover and then dropped Brian Maxwell twice to win via stoppage at the 1:59 mark into the first round. To start off the night, Zach Juusola stopped Fred Pierce at 33 seconds into round two.
