Top European prospect and undefeated fighter Khamzat Chimaev will have the chance to win his first world title at home. He welcomes rival and current BRAVE Combat Federation world champion Jarrah Al-Selawe in the main event of BRAVE CF 37, which will take place on April 18th, in Stockholm, Sweden, in partnership with AK Fighting Championships.
The match-up was revealed by Light Heavyweight legend Alexander Gustafsson, who’s a personal friend and training partner of Chimaev. For “The Mauler”, Khamzat vs Jarrah will be the biggest fight of the year.
“Borz” has made waves since signing with BRAVE CF in 2018, as he has run through the competition, winning four fights via stoppage. His debut took place at BRAVE CF 18, as he quickly knocked out Marko Kisic. He then went up in weight on short notice to claim his first-ever main event win, as he stopped Sidney Wheeler with strikes at BRAVE CF 20.
After that, Chimaev got the biggest win of his young career knocking out previously undefeated Ikram Aliskerov at BRAVE CF 23, following that up with a second-round submission of Mzwandile Hlongwa, who had also never experienced a loss before crossing paths with the Swedish phenom.
After the fight with Hlongwa, Chimaev called out Jarrah Al-Selawe, who regained his Super Welterweight title against Abdoul Abdouraguimov on the same night. They faced off and now have a date to fight, as Al-Selawe gets a second chance at defending his belt.
The first two-time BRAVE CF world champion, Jarrah is also the record holder for most promotional wins at seven. Ranked as the number one pound-for-pound Middle East fighter in the world, “The Jordanian Lion” has won seven fights under the BRAVE CF banner, and will look for its eighth victory in what is being called the biggest fight in the promotion’s history.
