BRAVE CF African superstar Eliezer Kubanza welcomed by DR Congo Minister of Sports

Eliezer Kubanza had a 2023 to remember, as the African superstar put on a stamp in BRAVE Combat Federation’s Super Welterweight division after two majestic victories during the year. And his efforts have been recognized in his home country, as he was received for an official visit by the Minister of Sports of DR Congo, François Kabulo.

The Knockout artist is in the running for Breakout Fighter of The Year following a successful campaign in 2023 for the most global MMA organization in the world. His BRAVE CF 79 KO over Adel Ibrahim is one of four nominees for KO of The Year, showcasing the impact that Kubanza had upon arrival to BRAVE Combat Federation.

After his first fight with the organization, Eliezer made waves in DR Congo as thousands of people were seen celebrating his victory and he was also welcomed by Mr. Kabulo on the occasion. His new visit to the offices of the Ministry of Sports reinforces the nation’s support for his career as Kubanza looks to cement a world title shot in 2024.

‘’King Kong’’ had a memorable amateur career, going as far as beating Ramazan Gitinov, widely regarded as the best amateur fighter of all time, before going up to the pro ranks. Following three victories in the local circuit, Kubanza made a seamless transition to the global platform of BRAVE CF and has become one of the most exciting fighters on the international roster of the company.

During his global debut, Kubanza made waves worldwide with his KO of Rayan Atmani, going viral for the power of his head kick, which was blocked by his opponent but generated enough strength to knock him out regardless. In his second outing, Eliezer showcased his resilience and composure after being rocked early on, using his wrestling to dominate, and eventually put away Adel Ibrahim with a vicious left hook and follow-up shots.

In 2024, Kubanza will aim to emulate his personal friend and teammate Nkosi Ndebele, who became the first South-African champion in the last event of the year, by ousting previous kingpin Jose Torres in the Bantamweight division. It could be the first time in seven years Africa has two reigning champions at the same time under BRAVE Combat Federation.
