Cage Fury Fighting Championships returns to Parx Casino on Oct. 2

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. – Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) is proud to announce the promotion’s return to Parx Casino in Bensalem, Penn. Featuring a co-main event between undefeated welterweight prospects Jonathan “War Hawk” Piersma (3-0) and Kris “The Problem” Vereen (5-0), CFFC 101 takes place Saturday, Oct. 2, at Parx Casino’s Xcite Center.

With planned headliner Santo Curatolo (6-1) tapped as the latest CFFC fighter to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series, the night’s new main event will be announced shortly.

Tickets for CFFC 101 go on sale Monday, Sept. 6, at CFFC.tv. The event streams live on UFC FIGHT PASS.

“We have truly been looking forward to returning to the beautiful Parx Casino, and we’re bringing an absolutely fantastic fight card to the venue once again,” CFFC President Rob Haydak said. “We wish Santo the best in his move to the sport’s biggest stage, and we look forward to showcasing the next group of athletes ready to prove they belong there, as well.”

The 25-year-old Piersma, a Synthesis MMA fighter, has proven to be an incredibly dangerous grappling threat, tapping out all three of his opponents thus far in his professional career – including a second-round omoplata win over Tommy Majeski at CFFC 94, as well as a first-round guillotine choke of Tyler Bunting at CFFC 91.

Meanwhile, the 32-year-old Vereen has proven equally adept at finishing fights and now makes his CFFC debut. Vereen has earned stoppages in all five of his career victories thus far, with four submissions and one knockout. Three of his past four fights haven’t made it out of the first round.

Current AEW wrestling superstar and two-time UFC veteran CM Punk calls the action at CFFC 101 alongside MMA Junkie lead staff reporter John Morgan on UFC FIGHT PASS.
