Cage Warriors 171: Glasgow Weigh-In Results and Fight Preview

With just over 24 hours to go until bell-time, the Cage Warriors 171 fighters hit the scales at Glasgow’s Village Hotel.

A huge international clash is set for the main event at the Braehead Arena, as both Italy’s Dumitru Girlean (154.3lbs) and Scotland’s Chris Bungard (155.4lbs) both hit their marks comfortably.

In the co-main event, England’s returning Cameron Else needed the two hour grace period after initially registering a weight of 136.5lbs. He returned to the scales within the two-hour allowance to make 135.9lbs.

Opponent Reece McEwan was bang on the championship weight of 135lbs.

Only Jamie Macdonald was unable to make his contracted weight, coming in at 209lbs for his light heavyweight clash with France’s Nell Ariano (204.8lbs).

The fight will go ahead, with Macdonald being fined a percentage of his purse.

All other fighters made weight at the first time of asking, and the stacked fight card will proceed with 16 bouts.
