Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships is starting 2020 with HUGE BANG! The promotion is ready and will be hosting CFC 8. The event will take place on March 7th in Murfreesboro Tennessee at the MID TEN EXPO.
In this night of action, we will see Cameron Taylor stepping into the CFC cage. He’s an experienced veteran in the sport of MMA with a dozen or so fights. He previously fought for the CFC at CFC 4 and is making his return this Saturday night at CFC 8 in Murfreesboro Tennessee against Christan Lozano. Check out the conversation he had with FightBook MMA below.
Cameron thanks for talking with us the week of your big fight in the CFC. You are the most experienced fighter on the entire card at CFC 8. How does it feel to be the old man of the event this Saturday?
Hopefully with experience comes wisdom and I can show something new.
With over a dozen fights experience, do you have a sense of calmness about you when you get in the cage?
Yea usually I try to blank out and think about nothing, just focusing on being there, not on me or my opponent. But sometimes I’ll listen to a good song, get excited, next thing you know I’m inspired to got out there and do something cool (laughs).
You’re on the card this Saturday against a fighter making his debut, I’m sure you can still remember the nerves and adrenaline of your first fight. How do you think you’ll have the advantage this weekend once the fight starts?
Foreal he seems to be a pretty good wrestler so I doubt he’ll be too nervous, I’m really preparing for a game opp, I’m notoriously bad against wrestlers (laughs).
The CFC Flyweight division is kinda up for grabs right now. Are you plans to get the win this weekend and put yourself into a possible position to fight for the CFC Flyweight title?
Oh of course if I can get the dub over Lozano, I’ll definitely take a shot at Phillips and Stiles for the belt (hopefully). Foreal tho I’m getting kinda big I’m def going up to 35 but 45 should have to watch out too.
Cameron do you have any thank you’s that you would like to say or anybody you would like to show some love to before we close out this interview? Best of luck to you this weekend at CFC 8!
I’d like thank the people around me who help me keep my head in straight, the fan and everybody that shows up to support, and thank Jon Ivey for giving me the chance to fight.
