Caolan Loughran Relishing the UFC Challenge

The recent wave of UFC Signings has made headlines on the Island of Ireland, Rhys McKee has resigned, Shauna Bannon made her debut at UFC London, and they have also signed Cage Warriors Bantamweight Champion Caolan ‘The Don’ Loughran. The undefeated fighter from Co. Tyrone is relishing his opportunity on the sports grandest stage.

His monumental ascension through the Cage Warrior Bantamweight division no doubt made the worlds largest promotion sit up and take notice, even before his championship triumph in Rome, he had issued a “come and get me” statement to anyone within the UFC top brass. And they duly obliged.

On September 2nd he will make his first walk to the fabled ‘Octagon’ in Paris, as he faces off against 12-1 French fighter Yanis Ghemmouri. The Frenchman is on a 9-fight win streak, coming off a 2nd round KO win at Brave 72 in Bahrain, but Loughran will see this as another chance to make a statement in enemy territory, a task that once again will not faze the Team Kaobon fighter.

Loughran is on an 8-fight undefeated win streak, his last outing saw him fight in Rome at Cage Warriors 154, where he was victorious against undefeated Italian fighter Dylan Hazan. His 2nd round KO win showcased his striking pedigree, with fast hands and vicious combos, and the MMA world took notice at just how complete of a Mixed Martial Artist he truly is.

His self-belief in his abilities as a fighter also caught the attention of the UFC matchmakers, and they have wasted very little time in adding this exciting young fighter to their roster. He has always believed he is one of the top bantamweights in the world, and in Paris he gets to prove to everyone that his confidence is matched by his fighting pedigree. But Ghemmouri is also hungry to prove himself on the worlds biggest stage. This match has potential show stealer written all over it. MMA fans, strap yourselves in for this one.
