Carlston Harris has ‘special attention’ for Amoussou x Cavalheiro at Brave 13

Brave Welterweight champion Carlston Harris is coming off a serious injury and is ready to defend his belt soon. And while he admits that Jarrah Al-Selawe is next for a title shot, the Guianese-born fighter claims he has his eyes on the Karl Amoussou x Rodrigo Cavalheiro fight, set for Brave 13: Europe Evolution, on June 9th, in Northern Ireland.

Harris was supposed to face Cavalheiro back at Brave 8, but he was bumped up to a title fight a day before and ran through Carl Booth to capture the Welterweight title. Meanwhile, the Brazilian veteran made his promotional debut at Brave 11, last April, knocking out Alessandro Gambulino in the first round.

“Thank God the Welterweight division is very stacked right now. There are no weak fighters. All guys can go in there and fight for the title. Cavalheiro, Fakhreddine, Amoussou…All of them can position themselves for a title shot. Let’s wait and see what happens, I have my eye on the Cavalheiro x Amoussou fight, for sure, and I do think that Cavalheiro can fight for the title soon”, commented Harris, who made sure he also praised Al-Selawe, after “The Jordanian Lion” beat Tahar Hadbi at Brave 12.

“I was supposed to face Jarrah already, but I got injured, and he didn’t want to wait. It paid off because he had another good performance against a tough guy. He deserves to face me next, to fight for the title. It was a good fight, very technical, but Tahar was slower, more than usual. He was retreating too much. Jarrah came in with a very good strategy, he kept his distance, used his kicks. I liked the fight, it was very technical, but with a good pace”, says the champ.

Brave 13: Euro Evolution will be held at The SSE Arena, in Belfast. The main event will be a rematch for the Bantamweight title as current champion Stephen Loman tries to go 2-0 against challenger Frans Mlambo. The co-main event is set for a Catchweight of 73 kg between former UFC fighter Norman Parke and Myles Price.

Northern Ireland will become the ninth country to host a Brave Combat Federation, after Bahrain, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Jordan, and Indonesia.
