Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships is starting 2020 with HUGE BANG! The promotion is ready and will be hosting CFC 8. The event will take place on March 7th in Murfreesboro Tennessee at the MID TEN EXPO.

In the main event, Jaime Vasquez is the pound for pound best fighter in the history of the CFC. He immediately won the CFC featherweight championship and after defending it he decided to vacant it and move up to the lightweight division, where he won the CFC lightweight championship. He makes his first title defense of the lightweight title on March 7th at CFC 8 against undefeated Donovan Salvato.

Jaime it is great to get to talk with you before the biggest fight of your career so far. On march 7th you are fighting in the main Event of CFC 8 against the highly regarded Donovan Salvato. How has training been going before such a important fight?

I’m training as always for me it is always important to prepare that, it’s difficult to maintain a good level but I keep going with my Workouts.

We did some checking and every fight you’ve had in the CFC has been a championship fight for titles… Kyle Tetley, Jaysen Baker, Tommy Scrivner, and Alexander Schenk. So clearly you’re use to being in big fights. How do you think Donovan Salvato compares to the other opponents you’ve had in the CFC?

It has always been a challenge for me to face them, of course it is another level to face him now since he has fought with very heavy opponents. I will have to be very intelligent and make him fall into my game.

CFC president Johnathan Ivey is very high on you, and very impressed with your talent. Who do you train with and what gyms are responsible for getting you to the level you are at?

I’m very grateful to Johanatan and he has given me very good fights and that is great because I have advanced and I want to continue advancing and thanks to my coaches too, I train at the Academy Bjj, Chonburi Muay Thai, pound 4 pound has also been part of my preparation.
Thanks to them who have given me the opportunity to make my camp my way since I also have my obligations with my work.

Donovan Salvato has finished every opponent he has had, one by armbar, one by leg lock, one by TKO. Salvato says he is going to finish you in the first round. Have you noticed any weaknesses in Salvato’s game and how do you see the fight going March 7th?

I know it’s not an easy fight but I’m eager to face him because it’s another level and I want to continue demonstrating that I’m still a challenge for many fighters.

Jaime is was great to get to talk with you. We wish you the best March 7th. Is there anyone you would like to thank before we close this interview?

Thank you very much for that interview, and thank Jonathan for giving me the opportunity, to the people for their support, my coaches, Jason, Bruce, David, training partners for giving me a good war.
