CFFC 84 Results: Jared Scoggins wins vacant bantamweight title

Robinsonville, Mississippi: On Thursday, Sept. 17, Cage Fighting Fury Championship hosted CFFC 84. The event took place at Horseshoe Tunica Hotel and Casino in Robinsonville, Mississippi. The entire event aired live on UFC Fight Pass.

The event was headlined by a bantamweight title bout as Jared Scoggins took on Thomas Vasquez. Scoggins picked up the vacant bantamweight CFFC title by a dominant unanimous decision win. Scoggins wasn’t afraid to stand with Vasquez, but his wrestling and ground control really stood out and made the difference in the bout.

The first round was very competitive, but Scoggins managed to push the action and didn’t let Vasquez land his strikes. As far as the other rounds, Scoggins was able to take down Vasquez and control him, but Vasquez was able to defend the submission attempts and avoid some big shots. In the end, Scoggins was able to defeat Vasquez by unanimous decision to win the bantamweight title.

CFFC 85 will take place on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Horseshoe Tunica Hotel & Casino in Robinsonville, Mississippi. The event is headlined by an interim welterweight title match-up between Mike Hill and Bobby Lee.
