Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, is reportedly under investigation by An Garda Siochána in Ireland, in relation to an alleged sexual assault of a women in a car near a west Dublin pub at around 9pm on Friday, October 11th.
McGregor is alleged to have arranged to meet the women in question in the pub, before they entered the vehicle, which has since been seized, in the pub’s carpark. The 31-year-old is alleged to have forced the women in her 20’s to perform an oral sex act, before later attending a house party. The Straight Blast Gym staple later attended a Garda station where he handed in clothes he was wearing on the night to An Garda Siochána.
The car in which the incident ocurred and the clothes McGregor presented to Gardai, will be forensically examined, with a member of An Garda Siochána telling how they “do not intend” to make any arrests before the examination.
CCTV footage from the premises has been handed over to Crumlin Gardai. According to The New York times, the 31-year-old was part of an investigation in relation to a December, 2018 sexual assault in a Dublin hotel, after a married women issued a complaint to Gardai. McGregor was arrested at the turn of the year, and was subsequently released pending further investigation.
Crumlin native McGregor, appeared in Dublin District Court on Friday morning in relation to a single assault charge brought against him by Desmond Keogh, a man in his 50’s McGregor is alleged to have punched during an altercation at Drimnagh’s Marble Arch pub on April 6th. earlier this year. Upon request from the defense, judge Marie Keane adjourned the case until November 1st. allowing the Dubliner three weeks to decide his plea.
Gardai issued this statement, after the women in question issued a complaint on Saturday morning. “Gardai are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a women that occurred on, Friday October 11th, 2019, at approximately 9pm on Drimnagh road, Dublin 12.“ A file has been prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
McGregor’s publicist made a brief statement on his behalf, with the Dubliner wholly denying the recent allegations. ” Conor McGregor is frequently the subject of rumors. He emphatically denies any report accusing him of sexual assault.”
