Daniel “The Predator” James (8-3-1 MMA) makes his return to the sport of mixed martial arts when he takes on Patrick Martins (7-4 MMA) this Friday, May 24th in the main event of LFA 67.
James, a 6’5 heavyweight is looking to continue his organizational momentum within LFA as he makes his first main-event appearance. He last fought at LFA 50, when he took on Calyn Hull and won via technical knock out in the second round. Currently on a two-fight win streak, James believes that a win on Friday night, should directly put him in line to be called up by the UFC.
The Predator is Hunting for his UFC Shot in Chicago
On May 24th, this will be James’ 13th professional mixed martial arts match. Arguably one of the more athletic heavyweights, James knows that his pure power and movement sets him apart from all others. This, he believes, should already be enough reason to garner a shot on the UFC’s roster. With this main event match, which will be aired on AXST Tv, ‘The Predator’ is going to make the most of the opportunity and use the platform to showcase his skills to the world, and to the UFC scouts.
“I think winning this fight, I feel this fight should be a direct ticket into the UFC” James began telling FightBook MMA. ” Whatever they feel is best. But what I feel – is that if you have a show coming into Chicago, and I go in there and dominant this fight, well, everything is business. If [the UFC] is looking for tickets to sell, or for a crowd. UFC comes to Chicago every year, but it’s different when you put Daniel James on the card. I can guarantee you that, you put James on a card in Chicago, that’s an extra 1000, 2000 or 3000 tickets sold. Guaranteed. I have a big prescience in Chicago. I’m done taking the back door. Contender Series, okay but I need to bypass that and go right into the UFC.”
James is referring to UFC 238, which takes place at the United Center in Chicago on June 8th.
