ORANGE, Calif.: WBA super bantamweight champion Danny Roman and IBF title holder TJ Doheny formally addressed the media on Wednesday for the final time before they clash in a highly anticipated unification fight this Friday from The Forum in Los Angeles.
The 12-round world championship fight will be streamed live on DAZN, one of the latest sports streaming services to enter the U.S. market.
The 28-year-old Roman, who is from Los Angeles, defends his title for the fourth time, while the Australian Doheny, 32, is making his second defense.
Roman was brief in his statements to media on Wednesday, which took place from the roof deck of the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity,” said Roman, who is promoted by Thompson Boxing and Matchroom Boxing. “I think it’s going to be a terrific fight. We are both at the top of our game. The fans in attendance and those watching on DAZN are going to see a lot of action.”
