Dennis Bermudez announces his retirement after his fight at UFC on ESPN+ 1

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Today after Dennis Bermudez fight on UFC on ESPN+ 1 he announces his retirement.

Bermudez (17-9 MMA, 10-7 UFC) defeated Te Edwards (6-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) by unanimous decision on UFC on ESPN+ 1. Bermudez took off his gloves and UFC commentator Jon Anik asked if unstrapping his gloves was a sign of retirement. Bermudez confirmed it would be his final time stepping inside the octagon.


Bermudez holds the record for most takedowns landed in 145-pound history (46).

UFC on ESPN+ 1 takes place Saturday January 19, 2018 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The main card streams on ESPN+ while the prelims on ESPN and ESPN+.
