Bellator MMA welterweight grappler, Dillon ‘El Jefe’ Danis has been charged with disorderly conduct in relation to an alleged incident at the Beachcomber Bar and Grill in Seaside Heights, New Jersey on Saturday night last.

Earlier this week, footage emerged of Danis, 28, struggling with law enforcement officers outside of the Beachcomber Bar and Grill, with officers picking Danis up from the ground as he attempts to struggle free before he is led down an entrance ramp of the establishment before being taken into police custody. In court summons obtained by outlet, MMA Fighting, it was confirmed that the alleged incident had taken place at the Beachcomber Bar and Grill.

Per the summons obtained by MMA Fighting, Danis is due to appear at Seaside Heights Municipal Court on October 19.  after the 28-year-old is alleged to have “created a disturbance” at the establishment, which was witnessed by the responding law enforcement officer. A charge of disorderly conduct can potentially result in a jail sentence of six months, probation, or resulting fines in Ocean County, New Jersey.

Speculation regarding Danis’ arrest began to circulate across social media when footage emerged earlier this week of the Marcelo Garcia Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in handcuffs outside the bar as police attended to detain him, as well as the emergence of what appears to be a mugshot of Danis.

In the video, Danis is wearing a white dress shirt as well as suit pants, with a knee brace on the outside of his right pant leg, and is sporting bleached blonde hair.

The New Jersey-born grappler underwent reconstructive knee surgery in March of last year after he featured in the training camp of Straight Blast Gym teammate, Conor McGregor ahead of the Dubliner’s UFC 246 knockout win over Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

2-0 as a professional mixed martial artist, Danis last featured professionally against Max Humphrey at Bellator 222 in June 2019, where he scored an opening round armbar submission victory.
