Efrain responds to Mlambo’s trash talk, wants to “run through him”
Knockout artist Felipe Efrain will return to the cage on March 2nd, in Amman, Jordan, looking to guarantee a title shot against SBG Ireland’s Frans Mlambo at Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises. The Brazilian Bantamweight is full of confidence after his win against Nawras Abzakh claimed KO Of The Year honors on Brave Combat Federation’s end of the year awards, and guarantees his opponent’s rangy style doesn’t impress him.
Speaking about his preparation for Mlambo, Efrain revealed that he had called in many tall sparring partners to emulate his opponent’s style and was quick to dismiss the trash talk involving the high-profile fight.
“Mlambo doesn’t really impress me. I’ve been working hard with sparring partners that can emulate him and are very good at boxing as well. All my opponents talk like that before they fight me and they always go down. I know he hasn’t been studying tape on me, and I’m not worried about him at all either. I just train hard, go out there and win. That’s what I do”
Efrain is undefeated thus far in his Brave career, with two knockouts to his name. And he was pleased to know that his flying knee KO of Abzakh made headlines all over the world.
“I was really pleased to get that KO of The Year award, especially since the fans voted on Brave’s social media profiles. It shows that I’m going down the right path. I want more now”, says Efrain, who showed respect to current Bantamweight champion Stephen Loman, while challenging him to a future fight.
“Loman is a complete fighter, he showed patience and composure to get the finish at Brave 9. It was good to watch him live, it gave me an extra boost to run through Mlambo. I want to say congratulations to Loman on becoming world champion and say that it will be an honor to fight him and give our fans a great show”, said Efrain.
Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises marks the promotion’s first show in Jordan, home to some of Brave’s most decorated fighters, and the seventh country to host a Brave Combat Federation event, after Bahrain, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, India, Kazakhstan, and Mexico.
