Elite Amateur Fight League “Season 3” brings a national amateur MMA tournament to the East Coast. Hosted by American Fight League

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA- For the first time the Elite Amateur Fight League (EAFL) is bringing a nationally competitive MMA tournament to the east coast. Hosted by American Fight League (AFL). On August 25th. at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Fans will have a chance to see the best amateur fighters from Virginia defend their home turf in a team vs team, state vs state MMA event against the best amateur fighters the state of Florida has to offer. The winner moves on to round 2 of the tournament and one step closer to the Amateur MMA Team National Championship. Tickets go on sale JULY 30TH. and will be available on line at ETIX.COM and at the Virginia Beach Convention Center Box Office. Tickets prices will range between $30 and $50 dollars. Event doors will open at 5:30PM and fights start at 7:00PM.

The “AFL 2” event will feature the EAFL Team vs Team matchup between the Virginia Destroyers and the Florida Force. Filling out the card for a night of great entertainment will be several matchups between up and coming local fighters.

The EAFL feature portion of the card matches top ranked fighters from Virginia training out of The MMA Institute (Richmond Va.), Disciple MMA (Sterling, Va.), 8 Corners (Louisa Va.), and The Lab 9 (Fredericksburg Va.) against Florida Fighters training out of the famed American Top Team. All of these fighters are considered the top talent at each of their weight classes.

John M. the president of the AFL said:

“When the Elite Amateur Fight League came to us with an opportunity to host a round of their national tournament at one of our events it was a no brainer. Our goal has always been to match the best fights for our fans. We have had great success finding the best local fighters for our events and now we can offer those fighters national exposure through the EAFL and can provide our fans an opportunity to watch the best amateur fighters in the country go head to head, live at our events in their back yard. No one else in the country can offer this unique platform and we are excited to be a part of it”

Jesse Nunez, President of the EAFL said:

“We’ve traveled the country to find the best local promotions to work with. The AFL has a proven track record of putting on a great show and is well respected in the industry. We are excited work with them and bring our national organization to the East Coast. Virginia was a great fit because Virginia MMA fans are among the best in the country and the talent level of top amateur fighters in the state can match up well against the country’s best. With fighters from top level gyms from across the country already in the league, from Jackson Wink, Team Quest, Team Alpha Male, and Fight Ready to name a few it was important to find states with fighters that can compete with them and we believe both Virginia and Florida will give our reigning champs from New Mexico (Jackson Wink) a run for their money. This is a night of fights that Virginia fight fans will not want to miss.”

In addition to the Elite Amateur Fight League fights, AFL will be hosting both amateur and pro bouts featuring top level regional talent.

Kassim Ruffin, one of Virginia Beach’s most talented fighters, will face Jeromy Mitchell for the AFL 145 lbs. title. Both fighters are extremely explosive in their striking game and have solid wrestling. It should be one heck of a match up. Following these two we will have Norfolk’s very own Damon Minor. A wrestling sensation, double legging, body slamming bull who charges his opponents the entire fight. He will have you on your feet the entire time with his aggressive take downs. He takes on no easy task when facing off with Alexander Olave. Alexander is just as aggressive and has an even more impressive striking game. His striking skills are second to none and simply deadly.

Going into the pro card we have Cedric “The Beast” Savage taking on David White. Cedric Savage is probably pound for pound the best fighter in the Hampton Roads area. Coming in at an enormous 205, this light heavy weight has had more opponents back out of fights then one can count due to his intimidating size, explosive wrestling, and precision striking. His opponent David white has a losing record of 0-3, but don’t let that record fool you. David has a chin stronger than concrete and a fuel tank than can go for days. All three of his loses have gone the distance and into decision; all have been wars. This should make for a very exciting main event of the evening.

Also, on the pro card, making his pro debut is Imani Smith. Imani Smith has been phenomenal as an amateur. Running through opponent after opponent he is ready for the pros. His first challenge will not be an easy task though. He comes in the cage to face Kedrick Harris. Kedrick is a deadly striker. In fact, Kedrick is one of two guys to defeat Imani’s new sparring partner Mitch Aguilar. Kedrick Knocked out Mitch a few years ago. Now Imani and Mitch are good buddies and sparring partners. Mitch did defeat Imani a year ago in the first round by rear naked choke.

Tickets are on sale now at Etix.com, you will not want to miss this event.
