FightBook MMA Fighter Focus: JW “Mad Cannons” Kiser
After a losing effort at Bellator 214 to Jake Hager (Jack Swagger for wrestling fans) JW “Mad Cannons” Kiser (5-2) found himself at a crossroads in his MMA career. Insert Glory MMA and Fitness Head Coach Zak Cummings. After an honest conversation between the two Kiser felt reinvigorated and since then has reeled off four straight wins.
“Mad Cannons” attention is squarely on Bellator 239 and turning a wrong into a right. Kiser is set to face Davion Franklin (debut) Friday, February 21st at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Having fought five times in 2019 Kiser will look to kick off his 2020 campaign with a statement win.
Kiser, 41 and 57 fights into a lengthy career still feels much younger and has a point to prove against the Jackson Wink prospect Franklin. Before his matchup at Bellator 239 Kiser sat down with FightBookMMA to talk being mentored, fighting for the right reasons, how camp has gone and much more. Hear the full interview below.
