I feel good about my fight coming up. Been training non stop and after this fight, depending what the outcome is, I want to go pro in MMA.
Mike also talked to FightBookMMA and he tells us:
I’m excited to get to fight close by. I’ve been training and I feel good to jump in that cage along with a worthy opponent. As far as what I’ll do if I win, I haven’t looked that far because I’m focused purely on this fight. No matter the outcome, the fans will definitely see a great show!
In the co-main event, Current GPP Lightweight MMA Champion Shawn Bouvia fighting out of Malone, New York takes on former Next Level Fighting Lightweight MMA Champion and the Undefeated fighter JaVun Scudder fighting out of New York training at 518 Train Breaking Bone Fitness. We reached out to JaVun he expresses:
I feel as if no one can stop me from getting what I want and what I want is to get paid one day for fighting. Turn my whole lot of nothing into a whole lot of something!!!! I just see Shawn as someone in my way and I need to move him to keep going forward. I feel great about this fight I’m in damn near the best shape I’ve ever been in! After this we’ll see what happens I’m just gonna train my 6 hours a day till it’s not enough and then I’ll train 9 hours a day if I have to! Not coming here to get my name out I just wanna get paid.
Shawn tells how he feels and how his training is going into this title fight:
I’m feeling good man. Been training hard and ready to take it home. As for whats next, I’m thinking of defending my MMA belt as the next show. Maybe even chase that 45 belt.
Also on the card we will see Luke “The Pontiac” David fighting out of New York taking on Derek Greene for the vacant Ground and Pound Promotions Bantamweight Title.
Derek tells us what this title fight means to him:
This title fight means a lot. I’ve been known as the guy that fights anyone anytime. Now I’m accepting a fight in front of his crowd. His sport. And I’m gong to leave in with his belt. I see there’s a 145lb kickboxing fight on this card. After I win this I’d like to fight the winner in a kickboxing title fight.
We asked Luke how he feels fighting on Saturday:
I honestly feel really excited to get back out there and fight and what’s next for me? I honestly couldn’t tell you, it really depends where the army sends me.
