UFC Fight Night will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021. The event does not have a location or venue.
The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm (14-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC), had been campaigning for a rematch with Miesha Tate. She will have to wait as she is now scheduled to face Norma Dumont (6-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) in a three-round bout.
“The Preacher’s Daughter” will compete at 145lbs for the first time since June 2018. Holm hasn’t competed since Oct. 2020. She did defeat Irene Aldana by unanimous decision and has won her last two bouts. She was originally scheduled to compete against Julianna Pena but Holm was diagnosed with hydronephrosis which is a urinary tract condition.
Dumont has a pro-MMA record of 6-1 with two of those victories coming by submission. Dumont attempted to make her return to bantamweight back in 2020. She has had some struggles making weight at bantamweight, and now it appears that the UFC is pushing her to compete at featherweight.
