Former IMMAF world champion victor, Lee Hammond is set for his second professional bout on February 25. following a successful debut back in November – scoring a featherweight outing at Bellator Dublin against Jamie Hay in his promotional debut.

Hammond, a staple of Straight Blast Gym, compiled a notable amateur record of 15-4 before turning professional in November of last year, taking home a first round knockout win over Ionut Brostic at Heros Fight League 2 – in the co-main event beneath teammate, Ion Pascu’s middleweight title victory.

For Hay, the 2-0 Manchester-born prospect last featured under the Full Contact Contender banner back in February 2020 – stopping Liam Gregory with a heel hook victory. Bellator Public Relations confirmed Hammond’s organizational bow against Hay on their official Twitter account. 

Competing at the lightweight limit at the 2018 IMMAF World Championships of Amateur MMA, Hammond scored the gold medal for Team Ireland with a split decision final victory over Finland’s Marko Sarasjarvi. Hammond had won bronze and then silver in the 2015 and 2016 championships, respectively.

36-year-old, Hay, has made his first two professional outings under the aforenoted, Full Contact Contender banner, debuting back in 2019 with an 11 second first round knockout win over Martin Peterson – who fell to 0-7 as a result.

Bellator Dublin is slated to take place on February 25. from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland – with a middleweight championship clash between undisputed titleholder, Gegard Mousasi, and the undefeated contender, Austin Vanderford set to take main event honors.

In the night’s co-headliner, one-time lightweight title challenger, Peter Queally returns to take on Manchester veteran, Kane Mousah.
