Well known Iowan, former UFC fighter Josh Neer is back Bare Knuckle fighting March 14th in Wichita, Kansas. Neer, known also as “The Dentist” will face another Iowa mixed martial artist Ronnie Forney. This bout will take place just 10 days before The Dentist’s 37th birthday at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 11, and will be shown on PPV. You can order on Fite or BareKnuckle.tv. When FightBookMMA reached out for Forney’s comment on fighting Neer he said:
“I know what I’m up against and I respect the guy for what he’s done in the sport of fighting. Coming out of Iowa, it paved the way for up and coming fighters in the state (including myself) to believe they can make it into the big shows. That being said, I plan on going in and fighting my best fight, and I’m looking to finish it.”
Neer declined comment.
This event will also feature a women’s championship bout as the champion, Iowan Helen Peralta will rematch the former champion Christine Ferea. Peralta took the title from Ferea at BKFC7 by decision in an all action back and forth hard hitting battle that left Peralta with a severely swollen eye before the bout came to a close. BKFC debuts are boxer Nikko Hernadez, Bellator veteran Dave Rickels, UFC Veteran Josh Neer.
