Irene Aldana Replaces Julianna Peña for UFC 289 Bantamweight Title Fight Against Amanda Nunes in June
Julianna Peña’s injury has led to a change of opponent for Amanda Nunes at UFC 289. UFC President, Dana White, has confirmed that Irene Aldana will step in to challenge Nunes for the bantamweight title. Peña broke her ribs, forcing her out of the fight. The match-up between Nunes and Aldana is set for June 10th, and Aldana comes into the fight on a two-fight win streak.

Aldana was initially preparing to fight Raquel Pennington in the main event of a fight night card on May 20th. Regardless, UFC fans can expect an exciting bout between Nunes and Aldana for the bantamweight title.
