Jacare Souza replaces Luke Rockhold & David Branch will face Jared Cannonier at UFC 230
It didn’t take long for the UFC to replace Luke Rockhold after he was forced out of his bout at UFC 230.
Rockhold who was due to fight Chris Weidman for a second time, removed himself from competition due to his recurring leg problems but also a list of other injuries.
Just spoke to a disappointed Luke Rockhold. He’s dealing with a litany of injuries:
*His left shin is infected again. He just got a stem cell graft put in.
*He sprained his right knee yesterday. MRI is scheduled for tonight.
*He broke his nose recently while grappling.— Ariel Helwani (@arielhelwani) October 19, 2018
The UFC were quick to find a new opponent for Weidman, in the shape of perennial top contender and former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza
Weidman vs. Jacare is done, per Dana White. UFC trying to keep David Branch, who was scheduled to fight Jacare, on the card. Jared Cannonier is a possibility, but not done.

With all the moving around at the top of the card, David Branch who was originally meant to fight “Jacare” was left with noone to fight, but we have learned in last few hours that Jared Cannonier has accepted the fight as per Dana White.
