Joanna Jędrzejczyk Vows To “Beat The S**t” Out Of Weili Zhang Anywhere

Former UFC strawweight champion, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, has promised to not only reclaim the 115-pound throne in a matchup with Weili Zhang next year, but also plans to “beat the s**t” out of the China native in the process.

Polish Muay Thai ace Jędrzejczyk recently returned to the winner’s enclosure, after a brief challenge for flyweight gold, at UFC Fight Night Tampa, as she exacted a five-round beating of former Invicta FC atomweight champion, Michelle ‘The Karate Hottie’ Waterson. The victory over Jackson-Wink MMA staple Waterson has seemingly reinstated Jędrzejczyk into championship contention, against Hebei striker Zhang, who became the premier UFC champion hailing from Asia in August, via an opening minute knockout of Jessica Andrade. In a recent interview with South China Morning Post, the Pole outlined her thoughts on a potential championship showcase with the 30-year-old.

I signed an agreement before the fight with Michelle Waterson,” Jędrzejczyk said. “I knew that after I got the victory I was going to fight for the belt.. This is whats going to happen next, and I’m just waiting for the date and the location, and then we are going to rock it. Anywhere, anytime. Bangkok, Sri Lanka, Warsaw, Toronto, it doesn’t matter where. For me, it doesn’t matter. I will make my way. Even if we have to take a canoe, I will make it to China and beat the s**t out of her.

Jędrzejczyk, who turns 33-years-old next summer, began her dominant title run in 2015 against Carla Esparza, and would go on to lodge five consecutive title defenses against Jessica Penne, Valerie Letourneau, Claudia Gadelha, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, and the previously mentioned Andrade. In her sixth attempted title defense, Jędrzejczyk dropped the championship in shocking fashion to the popular Rose Namajunas via a earth-shattering first round knockout. A second loss followed against ‘Thug’ Rose, before the Olsztyn native made the leap to 125-pounds as she clashed with Valentina Shevchenko after a victory over Tecia Torres.

30-year-old finisher Zhang, has fast tracked her way to Octagon gold, scoring victories over Danielle Taylor, Jessica Aguilar, and Tecia Torres before she relieved Andrade of champion status earlier this year.
