John Kavanagh Remarks BRAVE CF As “The Only Promotion That’s Truly Global”

BRAVE CF 53 marked the second trip of the fastest-growing MMA promotion in the world to the country of Kazakhstan. But for SBG Ireland’s John Kavanagh it was the first trip to the Central Asian country. During an interview at the event’s backstage, Kavanagh revealed that the trip was long-overdue in his bucket list.

“I’ve been following Kazakhstan in Amateur MMA for a while now, of course it’s the country that brought us Triple G, a great boxer… So, I’d like to thank BRAVE CF for making this visit possible. BRAVE CF is the only organization in the world that is truly global and goes everywhere. So, it’s fantastic that I was able to tick this one in my bucket list of cities to visit”, Kavanagh said.

The renowned coach also commented on the scene in Central Asia as a whole. “They really take combat sports seriously here. Whether it’s MMA, boxing, wrestling… Kazakhstan’s team is always very well prepared when competing in the IMMAF championships. Even the fans are very educated when it comes to the sport and you see the outcome with their fighters, they’ve been doing great”, he stated.

BRAVE CF 53 took place on August 21, in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and was held in association with Octagon Fight. The Kazakh fighters had several stellar performances, capturing impressive wins and pulling upsets during the whole card. In the main event of the evening, though, the hometown hero Nurzhan Akishev was bested by South Korea’s Tae Kyun Kim in a three-round slugfest.
