Jordanian Lion aims at the championship after taming David Bear
Brave Combat Federation showcased an action packed night at Jordan and one of the favourites of the crowd was the clash between David Bear and Jarrah Al Selawe. A back and forth battle was fought for all three rounds in the co-main event.
The first round witnessed solid stand-up exchange between the two until Bear took the game to the ground and overpowered Selawe. Selawe showcased grappling excellence, even locking an arm-bar which had an impact on Bear’s strikes for the rest of the game. Bear showcased vicious strength to escape from the arm-bar and get back into action. The second round witnessed Bear in dominant top position as he was once again able to take Selawe down. From the ground Jarrah laid traps to Bear with a series of attempts for triangle chokes, arm-bars and an omoplata. The final round began with a standing ovation from the crowd to the two welterweight warriors. The bout went neck to neck with no clearly distinct winner of the contest. In the final 20 seconds to the bell, Jarrah locked an unbreakable triangle choke that left Bear helpless but to tap with four more seconds to go giving Selawe his fourth victory in Brave Combat Federation.
The initial bout was supposed to be between Jarrah Al Selawe and Carlston Harris defending the welterweight championship. However Carlston Harris pulled out of the event due to an injury and was replaced by the newly signed David Bear. Jarrah is currently at the top of the division with a six fight win streak including four at Brave Combat Federation. As per the latest response by the champion, he is willing to face Jarrah in the next with the title on the line. If Jarrah can claim the gold from Harris, he stands a chance to be the first Jordanian fighter to claim a championship at the promotion. The fighter from the Kingdom Fighters has responded that he is looking for more action at the Bahrain based promotion. And a shot at the time is on the top of his priorities in the coming fight. A bout against Carlston Harris will be interesting with the contender and defender adept in striking, grappling, wrestling and ground game. With surprises to expect, it will be a matter of when the bout will take place.
