Jorge Masvidal’s Explosive Altercation: UFC Star Gets Heated with Bystander & Kevin Holland Ahead of Big Fight

Jorge Masvidal is making headlines once again as he prepares to take on Gilbert Burns in the co-main event of UFC 287. The renowned UFC star got into an altercation with a bystander outside the weigh-in on Friday, with a video obtained by TMZ Sports showing Masvidal being held back by his entourage while he called the person a clown. But that’s not all, as it turns out Masvidal had a verbal exchange with Kevin Holland at the fighter hotel earlier this week.

According to Holland’s manager, Oren Hodak of KOreps, Masvidal was trying to go after Holland outside of the weigh-ins on Friday morning, after Holland simply said, “Sup, baby girl”. This same exchange is what Hodak said set off the initial altercation between the two fighters on Wednesday as well.

Despite these incidents, Masvidal remains determined to win and has expressed confidence that he will be able to knock out Burns. Although he is currently on a three-fight losing streak, Masvidal is known for his fighting spirit and his ability to land knockout blows. He had stated that he wants to “catch a body or two” this year and his last win was in November 2019 when he defeated Nate Diaz to win the BMF belt.

While the incident involving Masvidal and the bystander may raise concerns about his behaviour outside of the octagon, it’s important to note that heated confrontations can sometimes be a part of the sport. However, fighters need to maintain their composure and professionalism, both inside and outside of the octagon. As role models for young fans, it’s crucial for fighters to set a positive example.

All eyes will be on Masvidal as he steps into the octagon on Saturday night to face off against Burns. As the betting underdog, it will be interesting to see whether Masvidal can overcome his recent losing streak and land the knockout blow that he’s been promising.
