Jose Arriaga is ready to take on Jaysen Baker at CFC 8

Murfreesboro, Tennessee: Johnathan Ivey’s Cage Fighting Championships is starting 2020 with HUGE BANG! The promotion is ready and will be hosting CFC 8. The event will take place on March 7th in Murfreesboro Tennessee at the MID TEN EXPO.

In this night of action, we will see Jose Arriaga who made his CFC debut at CFC 7 back in October of 2019. He was impressive and scored a 2nd round finish. He returns March 7th as the #5 ranked lightweight in the CFC to take on Jaysen Baker at CFC 8! Check out the conversation he had with FightBook MMA below.

Jose you are a little under 2 weeks from your fight at CFC 8. Your coming into this fight as the #5 ranked lightweight in the organization. How does that feel after only one fight in the CFC?

5th is where I’m at but #1 is where I will be soon. My goal is to be the best CFC champion.

Your debut in the CFC was against Desean Wolf who is an experienced veteran. You scored a second-round finish, can you walk us through that fight and how you saw it play out?

It didn’t surprise the way the fight went. I always train my mind to go to war and more.

March 7th you are fighting Jaysen Baker who has not fought in almost a year and a half. His last fight was at CFC 4 against CFC lightweight champion Jaime Vasquez, with baker losing a judge’s decision. What do you know about Baker and what do you think about his skill set?

He is a good Jiu-Jitsu fighter and I have nothing bad to say about him. I will be ready for anything he brings and more.

Jose with you currently #5 in the lightweight division are you looking to get another impressive victory on March 7th and possibly put yourself into title consideration?

Yes because the title is what I want more than anything. And I am working my way up to get it.

Johnathan Ivey has a reputation of being kinda wild and doing crazy things inside the cage. How is it fighting for his organization compared to fighting in other organizations that are run by people that maybe haven’t been in the cage themselves so many times competing?

Johnathan Ivey always puts on a good show because of his experience he knows how to pick good fighters. I really enjoy fighting for CFC🙏🙏🙏.

Jose thank you for talking with us and we wish you the best come March 7th. Is there anyone you would like to thank or show some love to before we finish this interview?

I want to thank Johnathan Ivey for the opportunity to show my skills in the cage. And I want to thank my team SHELBYVILLE BJJ for their support.
