Jose Torres reveals shocking injury that almost ruined BRAVE CF 73 main event

At BRAVE CF 73 in Bogota, Jose Torres was able to grind out a hard-fought decision win over Nkosi Ndebele. As a result, he is the new bantamweight king in BRAVE Combat Federation, and it’s a position he takes incredibly seriously. However, there was a real possibility of this match-up being cancelled once again.

In a recent Instagram post, Torres revealed that an injury in training came close to ending his dreams of competing for the belt on August 12.

“Fun fact, three weeks before my fight I had to stop training and adapt because I took a beautiful knee to the eye and had to get stitches for my deep cut. This almost cancelled and pushed back the fight once again, but I didn’t want that to happen. I did everything I could to stay healthy and push on to eventually become the new BRAVE CF bantamweight champion!”

For Jose Torres, it’s a fun fact – but for everyone else, it proves what a warrior this man is. It’s been well documented that Torres has had to walk through fire in order to get to the top. So, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to learn that he overcame real adversity during his training camp.

Nkosi Ndebele gave everything he had last weekend but when you’re put up against someone who is willing to do anything it takes to win, it’s hard to match that. In the Colombian capital, the 31-year-old proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is the man to beat at 135 pounds.
