Kallum Skhane: “The Trigon is where real men fight”

Kallum Skhane’s first win was an emphatic knockout over Ryan Meer at BYB 33: Wolverhampton Brawl. That was less than 3 months ago.
Now, Skhane looks to build off of that momentum and notch his second bare knuckle win at BYB 36: Cardiff Brawl II. He will take on the experienced and battle-tested Joe “The Dragon” Fitzpatrick.

Kallum Skhane: Fun while it lasted
Kallum Skhane’s first fight lasted only 2 minutes and 19 seconds. He took Ryan Meer out with a flash of footwork and technical boxing. “It was an amazing experience for how long it lasted.”
And one could tell how much he’s enjoyed his time in just that one fight. Skhane’s experience showed. He has won five Welsh titles in proper boxing and a British title as an amateur.

But bare knuckle boxing is very different. Skhane feels he grew from that first fight and the experience it brought.
“I think I’ve learnt a lot from my first bout. I’ve gotten better. I’m getting better every fight.”
Of course, coming from Queensberry rules, the Trigon is a big adjustment for someone moving to BYB. Skhane was a huge fan. “I love fighting in the Trigon,” said Skhane. “It’s different. It’s where real men fight.”
Motivation
Kallum Skhane is motivated by more than just a list for war. He fights for more than that. His family, first and foremost, is on his mind. As well as where he’s from.
“What motivates me is my family. I want to become world champion for my kids. I want to make the whole family and Wales proud.”

Skhane knows how good his opponent is. Joe Fitzpatrick has an extensive boxing record as well as five bare knuckle bouts. Skhane is not underestimating him.
“Joe is a very good boxer and very tough. Joe’s going to come out like a bull like always, but I’m going to be too fast and too strong for him and break him down and take him out.”
So tune in, says Skhane, to BYB 36. He will be one-half of a fight that is sure to produce fireworks. The fight is on February 1st. Skhane vs. Fitzpatrick is something fans won’t want to miss.
“This is a fight not to be missed. Two very experienced boxers going toe to toe, bare knuckle, in the mighty Trigon.”
