Veteran Karl Amoussou is the latest Brave Combat Federation signing, having signed a deal with the promotion this week. Amoussou joins an already stacked Welterweight division headed by current champion Carlston Harris.
“Psycho” has experience in MMA promotions around the world, such as Strikeforce, M-1 Global, Bellator, Pancrase, and DREAM. A Judo specialist, Amoussou has never been submitted in his professional career, that started in 2006. He has an MMA record of 24 wins, eight losses, and two draws.
“I couldn’t be happier to announce you that from now on I am going to be a Brave fighter. Brave is a great organization that respects fighters and gives them great perspectives. I will give them the most intense fights they’ve ever had. My intentions are clear; shaking the welterweight division around! My goal is clear: wrapping that prestigious belt around my waist before the end of the year!
Welterweights, get ready: Psycho is coming for you all with bad intentions!”, claimed Amoussou.
And the Frenchman wants to debut with a bang. Through his social media accounts, Amoussou has challenged former training partner and title contender Tahar Hadbi saying he would like to face “Fast Hands’ in an interim title bout since current champion Carlston Harris is sidelined with an injury.
“So I’ve heard there may be an interim belt on the line at Brave. Tahar Hadbi and I were former teammates with a clear rivalry and unfinished business. I’m the best ranked Welterweight at Brave, he’s the second one. It clearly makes sense…Will he accept to finish the business?”, asked Amoussou to his followers.
Hadbi shrugged off Amoussou’s intentions, stating he wasn’t interested in the fight, focusing on a fight against Jarrah Al-Silawi, currently in pole position to challenge Harris for the title. However, the French-Algerian fighter left a message to his rival, claiming Amoussou blocked him from Twitter.
“I saw this message from a newcomer that lost his last fight. By the way, real champions don’t leave their belts the way you have done it. Make the queue and I will take care of you after being the champion, if you are able to reach me, of course… And please unblock me from Twitter, be a real man!”, provoked Hadbi.
