Kazuto Ioka stops Aston Palicte in 10th round to become 4-division world champ

CHIBA CITY, Chiba, Japan: History was made today in Japan as local favorite Kazuto Ioka (24-2, 14 KOs) stopped his Filipino challenger, “Mighty” Aston Palicte (25-3-1, 21 KOs) midway through the 10th round to capture the vacant World Boxing Organization’s (WBO) junior bantamweight title, and become the first Japanese boxer to be world champion in four different weight classes.

Ioka vs. Palicte, co-promoted by RJJ Boxing and Reason Taki Promotions, was the first world championship boxing match streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS®.
