KSW will return to England’s capital city London, September 14th for its milestone 50th show, from The SSE Arena, Wembley.
If anyone has been to a KSW event you will know this is much more than just an MMA event. Ksw has for the last 15 years been pushing the boundaries of what they can achieve in regards to entertainment, And on one else can compete with the entertainment these guys put on.This will be the third time KSW have come to the UK, but this time we are in for a celebration of 15 years of hard work.
KSW co-owners Maciej Kawulski and Martin Lewandowski give a hint as to what to expect from KSW 50:
“KSW 50 will be a special event,” said KSW co-owner Maciej Kawulski. “We are fifteen years now with KSW after launching in 2004 and we’ve just grown and grown. This event will be a celebration of the past fifteen years for us and the fight card we are putting together will be a gift for the fans. Unmissable!”
“After two very successful events at The SSE Arena, Wembley in the past I am very excited to celebrate our 50th event in London,” said KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski. “This event will serve as a thank you to KSW fans across the world for the past fifteen years. Whether you can join us in the arena on the night or watch live on KSWTV.com, we are looking forward to celebrating with you.”
So far announced is 3 (YES 3) title fights & 1 interim title fight
In the main event, Englands Heavyweight Champ Phil De Fries (17-6) will look to cement his position as the UK number 1 heavyweight & one of the best in the world, when he faces challenger ‘Polish Pitbull’ Damian Grabowski. Following a stint in the UFC, where De Fries suffered crippling anxiety throughout, nearly pushed him to quit the sport till KSW came to call. Since then De Fries has gone on a run of 5 straight wins launching himself back into the minds of MMA fans across the world.
De Fries will be facing Damian Grabowski (22-5). A former M-1 champion who competed in the UFC and Bellator is not to be taken lightly. The manner in which he dispatched of Karol Bedorf at KSW 49 is a testament to this man’s credentials. Not only was it a TKO win over the former champ but it was done in a dominate & devastating fashion.
Also added to the card is one of the biggest prospects & current KSW welterweight champion Mr. Roberto Soldic (16-3). ‘The RoboCops’, official opponent has not been named as yet, but best believe that anyone that faces Soldic is in for a long night. According to KSW Soldic has an incredible 95% finishing ratio with nine first-round finishes. In his last fight took less than 90 seconds to dismantle undefeated Krystian Kaszubowski at KSW49.
“am really looking forward to KSW 50 and being part of this huge milestone event,” said Soldic. “I won the title back in this arena last year and now I will defend it here and my goal is to bring fireworks to Wembley!”
An announcement on his opponent will come in the coming weeks.
In the lightweight division, we have an interim title fight between ‘Stormin’ Norman Parke (27-6-1) & Marian Ziolkowski. This fight has come about due to the inactivity of current Lightweight champ Mateusz Gamrot , who is taking a “break from the sport”. This is not the first time Parke has fought for the title at KSW39 losing via decision & again at KSW40 where it was ruled no-contest. Parke Who is widely known for his heavy wrestling style will meet Polish submission specialist Marian Ziolkowski (21-7-1). At 28 Ziolkowski is fast getting a reputation as someone that given any chance will finish a fight in the blink of an eye, & his record proves why. Seventeen of his twenty-one wins have come via submission or TKO. Marian Ziolkowski told KSW
“Fighting for the belt was my dream and now it has become a reality. After winning my last two fights I proved that I am the one to fight for the belt and when I become KSW champion my plan is to defend the belt as long as I can and “clean out” the lightweight division.”
The last title fight of the night will see a Light Heavyweight Title Fight between Tomasz Narkun (16-3) the current champ against & as yet an unnamed opponent. “ŻYRAFA” as many call him has not fought for KSW since his loss to current heavyweight champ De Fries at KSW47, But before that loss, he was riding a winning streak of 7 in a row.
