Leah McCourt returns, meets Janay Harding at Bellator London in May

A featherweight pairing between recent big-winner, Leah ‘The Curse’ McCourt, and New Zealand native, Janay ‘Hollowpoint’ Harding has been matched for Bellator London on May 16th. – according to an official press release from the promotion.

Belfast native, McCourt (4-1), recently headlined Bellator Dublin on short-notice – taking a unanimous decision triumph over Judith Ruis in the process. The 27-year-old extended her undefeated run with Bellator to three fights, as she attempts to close in on her premier promotional title tilt. The SBG Charlestown trainee will share the card with fellow stable member, James Gallagher, who headlines against Cal Ellenor in a clash scheduled for the third time.

Christchurch born and Sydney based finisher, Harding (5-4), dropped her last outing to Amanda Bell back at Bellator 233 in Oklahoma. The 25-year-old has picked up two victories in her four Bellator walks, with victories coming against SBG Ireland mainstay, Sinead Kavanagh, and Marina Mokhnatkina. Either side of her loss to the aforementioned, Bell, Harding featured in two boxing matches against both Kylie Hutt and Tayla Harris.

Bellator London takes place on May 16th. from the SSE Arena in London – and features a headlining battle between bantamweight submission-specialists, James Gallagher and Cal Ellenor. In the co-main event, rising prospect, Fabian Edwards takes on Costello van Steenis. Former rugby star, James Haskell will also make his professional debut on May 16th.
