Amsterdam: On Sunday evening, May 30th, the debut event of new Dutch MMA promotion Levels Fight League took place behind closed doors in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
The main event saw Volkan Oezdemir-trained Robert Valentin (5-2) secure a first-round upset win over popular Dutch fighter Joey Berkenbosh (4-2), Gegard Mousasi’s wrestling coach, in what was a short but thrilling contest.
Following a big slam, Valentin managed to secure position before sinking in the rear-naked choke forcing the tap from the veteran Berkenbosch. (Watch finish here).
The co-main event saw Ciryl Gane training partner Paulin Begai (1-0) make a successful start to his pro career. The Fernand Lopez student scored a big decision win over kickboxing star Clyde Brunswijk (1-1).
Elsewhere on the card, BJJ ace Freddie Vosgrone (1-0) won his much anticipated MMA debut with a second round submission win over Denmark’s Erhan Okuroglu (1-1). (Watch finish here). The German has submission wins in grappling over ONE double champ Reinier de Ridder and the UFC’s Tom Breese and is dedicated to continue his journey into MMA.
Aruba’s Reymond Jowett improved to 2-0 with a first round TKO win over Zezva Kerashvili and the Netherlands’ Mo Elawil moved to 4-0 after securing a beautiful heel hook submission on Mahmoud Hashadh.
