Undefeated stars will clash and the KSW lightweight title is on the line in the main event of KSW 54 on August 29th as champion Mateusz Gamrot (16-0) defends his title against ‘The Silent Killer’ Shamil Musaev (14-0).
Less than two months after his dominant win over Norman Parke at KSW 53, Mateusz Gamrot is back and takes on a new challenger for his KSW lightweight title. The 29-year-old has defended his title four times and holds career wins over Mansour Barnaoui, Andre Winner, Marif Piraev, Kleber Koike Erbst, and Norman Parke twice, including handing the durable Northern Irishman his first stoppage loss in over a decade.
Now stepping up to take on ‘Gamer’ is arguably the most dangerous opponent the Pole has ever faced. Shamil Musaev came into KSW last year and made an immediate impact dispatching the highly rated Hubert Szymajda with ease in the first round and the 26-year-old followed this up with a highlight reel spinning back fist win over former title challenger Grzegorz Szulakowski just over a minute into their contest at KSW 52.
Being billed as one of the biggest title fights in Europe this year, both men bring an incredible amount of quality and experience into this contest. Together they own a 30-0 record and have registered 13 TKO / KO’s, 6 submissions, & 11 decision wins between them.
