Members of the world-renowned Allstars Training Center were in full force, supporting their teammate Bilal “Borz” Tipsaev who competed on the supporting card of BRAVE CF 54 in Konin, Poland last September 25 against Glenn McVeigh in a bantamweight clash.
One of them was Mochamed “The Beast” Machaev, who gave his take on the card’s enthralling opening bout in an exclusive backstage interview.
“It was actually a great fight,” the Austrian phenom quipped.
Tipsaev and McVeigh put together an awe-inspiring performance as both men swapped their best offense from bell to bell.
The Swede was relentless with his takedowns, showcasing his chain wrestling skills to constantly bring McVeigh the mat. Meanwhile, the Irishman punished his opponent with beautifully-executed striking combinations.

As Tipsaev and McVeigh fought each other down the wire, the bout ended in an anticlimactic draw with three 28-28 scores across the panel. Most pundits attributed the disappointing outcome to the point deducted by the referee from the Swedish standout in the second round when he poked his finger inside his foe’s mouth.
Tipsaev admitted that the prohibited act was intentional after the fight and pinned the blame on McVeigh for talking smack in a heated sequence during the second frame.
Machaev believes that McVeigh got into the head of Tipsaev as the two were already trading barbs prior to the match. Tensions also flared during the weigh-ins.
“It’s the mind games. He (Tipsaev) has to be very calm next time, but he will manage it next time,” Machaev said. “He (McVeigh) talks a lot of sh–.”
Tipsaev’s close friend offered advice if the Swede will get a chance to run it back with McVeigh inside the cage.
“Emotions were running high all throughout the fight. He (McVeigh) talked a lot of sh—. We will make him pay for this. He (Tipsaev) has to be calm and approach it the right way mentally next time,” Machaev stated.
Tipsaev and McVeigh have been lobbying for a rematch since the dramatic draw concluded their highly anticipated fight, but no official announcement has been made about a rematch thus far.
