Nate Diaz Sues Fanmio for $9 Million Over Unpaid Purse from Jorge Masvidal Fight

Nate Diaz has filed a lawsuit against Fanmio, claiming the company owes him $9 million from his contracted purse for his recent boxing match against Jorge Masvidal. The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida on Monday, accuses Fanmio and its owner/president Solomon Engel of “outright fraud.”

According to the 17-page document obtained by MMA Fighting, Diaz alleges that Fanmio agreed to pay him a total of $10 million for the fight, with $1 million upfront and the remaining $9 million due after the event. Despite the bout taking place at a sold-out Honda Center in Anaheim, where Diaz won by majority decision, Fanmio has reportedly refused to pay the full amount.

The lawsuit details desperate calls from Engel to Diaz’s representatives, where Engel allegedly claimed significant financial losses and even threatened bankruptcy to avoid payment. Diaz asserts that Fanmio and Engel “intentionally lied” about having the funds set aside and provided written guarantees through their lawyer.

Diaz is seeking punitive damages for the alleged intentional misconduct and fraud by Fanmio and Engel.
