Nemesis Fighting Alliance returns to Casa Loma Ballroom
St. Louis based Nemesis Fighting Alliance will look to wow fans once again Saturday February 15th from the Casa Loma Ballroom in St. Louis. The event is headlined by what most would consider one of the next top prospects to come out of the 314 in featherweight champion Josh Augustine (3-1) as he will look to defeat his belt against Arkansas native Colton Hamm (1-0).
Augustine who has won all three of his fights under the NFA banner with his lone blemish a short notice battle against TUF alum Thai Clark under the LFA banner. The long, rangy, and aggressive Augustine has finished all three of his opponents in the very first round on his route to the title. The challenger Hamm will have his work cut out for him trying to get inside the range of Augustine. At 5’10 Hamm will have a similar reach as Augustine but finding the right angles and point of attack could pose a problem.
The co main event of the evening will see the professional debut of Irfan Mulabitinovic as he squares off against Tremeire Holly (0-2) in a featherweight contest. Mulabitinovic was stellar as an amateur going 6-1 with the lone loss coming all the back in 2015. Holly will look to get his first win as a professional having fought two of the best in St. Louis in champion Josh Augustine and Evan Elder (3-0). This is a contest not to sleep on as both have something to prove.
Get your Sharpie out and circle the amateur welterweight championship fight as Chuckie Brooks (8-3) is set to defend the title against Kevin Roper (5-4) These are two of the best welterweights in the Midwest. Brooks the Pharaoh Boxing Club product has some highlight reel KO’s on his resume and hasn’t been shy on taking on all comers in their backyard. Roper is always fun to watch and much like Brooks has ran the gauntlet of the welterweight division. This matchup will feature high level and powerful striking and versatility if it goes to the ground. If there were betting odds on this fight it would be considered a pick em fight as both can end the fight with one shot. Look for both to turn pro in the very near future and don’t blink.
There will be plenty of fighters that are still cutting their teeth inside the cage on the undercard and that is always exciting for fans to see the next crop of talent coming up in the region. Sneaky Fight of the Night pick will have to be Hunter McCormick and Keagan Irish, See the full fight card below.
