Newly-signed “Shorty” Torres breaks down ‘amazing’ Brave 21 card

Jose “Shorty” Torres has been a Brave fighter for less than a week but is already on his first mission for his new home. He will be in attendance during Brave 21, set for December 28th, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Flyweight and Bantamweight contender will also travel to coach his teammate Rami Hamed but says he’s excited to attend his first event officially as a Brave fighter.

Torres has been a color commentator in different occasions for the promotion, including back in September of 2016, for Brave 1, but admits Brave 21 will be a different experience for him.

“It definitely isn’t my first Brave event but it is my first event as a signed Brave fighter. And it is awesome to be taken care of even before being signed with the company, so imagine the amount of respect now. Attending a new event in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a new country for Brave, I’m sure it’s gonna be an amazing experience”, says Jose.

The American star is keen to enjoy good fights while in Saudi Arabia and has highlighted the main and co-main events as the bouts he’s most looking forward to. He’s a former teammate of Marat Magomedov, who takes on Jeremy Kennedy, and has also trained with Gadzhimusa Gaziev, who meets Jose’s friend, Rami Hamed.

“I’m excited to be there and coach my fighter but also to check out some amazing fights. I have a couple of teammates and former teammates on the card that I’m definitely looking forward to seeing in action. Marat trained with me at KHK MMA, he is an amazing fighter. I really want to reunite with him, to see him and witness how much he improved since we last trained together. And, of course, Rami Hamed, he’s grown so fast and I’ll be honored to coach him. Funny thing is that he’ll be fighting another former teammate, Gadzhimusa Gaziev, who’s also an amazing athlete. I’m sure this fight is gonna be a war and I can’t wait to see them putting on a show for the fans in Saudi”.

Brave 21 marks the first time the fastest-growing promotion in the world will land in Saudi Arabia. The groundbreaking event will crown an unforgettable year for Brave as the organization traveled to 12 different countries in 12 shows throughout 2018.
