Bellator 300 Preview
In the main event, promotion’s lightweight champion, Usman Nurmagomedov, will defend his title against former champion Brent Primus. In the co-main event, featherweight queen Cris Cyborg will take on undefeated-in-bellator Cat Zingano.
Before that, a champion vs ex-champion matchup is scheduled as Liz Carmouche puts her flyweight title up against Ilima-Lei Macfarlane.
Looking at the 13-fight prelim card, we see several exciting matchups as Lorrany Santos against Jackie Cataline in a Women’s Featherweight bout, Dmytrii Hrytsenko vs. Justin Montalvo, Bryce Meredith vs Miguel Peimbert in a Bantamweight contest, Bobby Seronio III vs Alberto Garcia in their Bantamweight fight, Leah McCourt vs. UFC veteran Sara McMann in a Women’s Featherweight bout, Henry Corrales vs. Kai Kamaka, and more.
Main Event: Usman Nurmagomedov vs Brent Primus
Khabib Nurmagomedov’s younger cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov (17-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA), the current Bellator lightweight champion, will defend his title against previous champion Brent Primus (12-3 MMA, 10-3 BMMA) in the semi-final bout of the Bellator Lightweight Grand Prix.
Usman turned professional in 2017 and joined Bellator in 2021. He beat Pitbull in December 2022 for the lightweight title and successfully defended in the first round of the Grand Prix in March, defeating Benson Henderson via submission.
On the other hand, Primus turned professional in 2010. He defeated Michael Chandler in 2017 for the Bellator lightweight title but lost it in a rematch.
Since then, he has gone 4-2. He last appeared on May 12 when he defeated Mansour Barnaoui in the opening round at Bellator 296.
