Brno, Czech Republic: A title fight rematch, ‘The Terminator’ returns & all fighters made weight earlier today ahead of Oktagon 17 tomorrow night, October 17.
UFC veteran Karlos ‘The Terminator’ Vemola (27-6) has found new to his MMA career in his native Czech Republic and has risen to become one of the nation’s top sports stars. The light heavyweight competed in the UFC between 2010 & 2013 to mixed success but has since went on an incredible 18-2 run, losing only to Jack Hermansson and, most recently, Attila Vegh in one of the biggest MMA fights in Europe last year.
Vemola returns now in the co-main event of Oktagon 17 and meets former Cage Warriors title challenger Thomas Robertson (8-3). The Norwegian comes into the promotion taking on one of their biggest stars and having only went to the distance once in his career we can expect fireworks.
In the main event we have a rematch between welterweight champion David Kozma (26-11) and Hungary’s Mate Kertesz (8-3).
Known as ‘The Pink Panther’, Kozma returns to Oktagon after a stint with RCC in Russia to once again defend his welterweight title. The 29-year-old has risen to become one of the top and most exciting welterweight in Europe and has an impressive 13 wins by submission and 7 by TKO.
Looking to steal Kozma’s thunder and to avenge his loss in their first fight is Mate Kertesz. In his last fight the knockout artist shocked everyone with his first round finish over Jozef Wittner, who was 12-1 heading into their contest. Kertesz’s first fight with Kozma in 2018 went to a decision, this time he will be looking to put The Pink Panther away.
