Omar El Dafrawy’s Faith is The Only Thing Bigger Than His Dream of Becoming A BRAVE CF Champion

It’s not everyday in Mixed Martial Arts that you come across a fighter nicknamed “GodFirst”, with other more pagan references such as Killer, Pitbull, and Dragon being way more common. But Omar El Dafrawy wears his nickname as a badge, because it stands for what he cares about the most.

“Praying is the first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do before going to bed. Putting my faith in God became a lifestyle so that’s why I chose GodFirst as a nickname. This name represents me more than anything,” he says.

But El Dafrawy’s unshakable faith is not the only thing defining him. The 25-year-old Egyptian national is positive he’s meant for success and is ready to reach stardom with his BRAVE Combat Federation debut.

“I have always seen myself becoming the best to ever grace the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and that’s what I’m on a mission to do,” he states. “I am aggressive and entertaining, and that’s why I will become the BRAVE CF world champion.”

Omar El Dafrawy’s achievements got him the opportunity to join BRAVE CF as one of Egypt’s most talented youngsters. GodFirst is a national Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion in both GI and NO-GI, holds a perfect boxing record of four wins, and a professional MMA record of 5 wins and a single loss, including an Egyptian MMA championship in the regional level.

Despite this amazing track record at such a young age, the biggest challenge so far is right ahead, as he’s set to take on Abbas Khan in his BRAVE CF debut. Regardless of his opponent’s amateur background, El Dafrawy believes he’s got the upper hand.

“He (Abbas Khan) has a good stand up game and lots of amateur experience, he fought a lot. But I’m the better fighter and, for sure, I’ll be going there to get the finish,” he guarantees.

Omar El Dafrawy will take on Abbas Khan in a Super Lightweight featured bout at BRAVE CF 48: Arabian Night. The second of four scheduled consecutive cards in Kombat Kingdom will take place on March 18, in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
