Singapore: ONE Championship™ (ONE) athletes competing at ONE: BATTLEGROUND III, a tape-delayed event from the Singapore Indoor Stadium which airs this Friday night, 27 August, spoke to the media ahead of their respective bouts.
Vietnamese-American star Bi Nguyen takes on Filipina stalwart Jenelyn Olsim in a pivotal atomweight clash, with the winner of the bout moving on to face Grace Cleveland in a Grand Prix alternate bout at the upcoming ONE: EMPOWER.
Nguyen talked about the fallout from her recent victory over Ritu Phogat, taking on the biggest names in the atomweight division, and how she believes she will beat Olsim. Meanwhile, Olsim touched on topics such as improving her grappling skills, what she thinks of opponent Nguyen, as well as how she plans to finish her opponent.
South Korean veteran Song Min Jong looks to return to the win column when he takes on the undefeated Tial Thang in a bantamweight showdown.
Song talked about the lessons he learned from a recent loss to Geje Eustaquio, keeping his winning momentum, and how he has prepared for Thang’s wrestling and grappling. Thang, on the other hand, discussed training with legends at Sanford MMA, his thoughts on opponent Song Min Jong, and maintaining his unblemished record.
