FightBook MMA did confirm the news during a conference call with ONE. ONE did state that they are now opening offices in New York City and in Los Angeles in efforts to bring light to their venture in the US market.

Sityodong told FNB in a phone interview on Friday:

“We offer a completely, 180 degree, diametrically opposed product to what North American MMA fans are used to seeing (in promotions like UFC and Bellator). American MMA is a blood sport, it promotes anger… controversy… negative energy. What ONE Championship does is offer a very different set of values. Things like respect, honor, humility. We showcase the best of humanity.”

As we remember, ONE Championship recently signed former UFC flyweight champion and pound-for-pound great Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson and former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez last year. Sage Northcutt is another name signed with ONE Championship.

ONE Championship is looking to air events live in North American TVs and in major parts of North American cities. ONE wants to offer their fans a new take in MMA events especially the fans who are getting turned off from the WWE soap opera the UFC has become.

Sityodong also stated during the interview:

“The UFC stars who have come over, and a lot of UFC stars have reached out (to us)… we carefully select those that represent our values. Fighters like Eddie Alvarez, Demetrious Johnson, Sage Northcutt. We are not interested in loud, brash characters like in western promotions. Our stars are role models, people little boys and girls worldwide can look to as inspiration.”

The next event for the promotion will be the inaugural ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest which is set to take place from 5-6 October at the Bellesalle Shibuya Garden in Tokyo. The ONE Martial Arts Fan Fest aims to bring the martial arts and esports communities together in an exciting two-day event.

The following weekend the promotion will host ONE: CENTURY 世紀  which is the promotion’s historic 100th live event and it’s scheduled for Sunday, October. 13. The event will feature three World Championship bouts, and three World Grand Prix Championships, in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix, ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, and the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.  ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee of Singapore will defend her title against ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan of China. ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang of Myanmar will defend his title against ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera of the Philippines. And ONE Bantamweight World Champion Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes of Brazil will defend his title against Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon of the Philippines. Also on the card are four Japan Super Bouts, with four Shooto World Champions going head-to-head with four Pancrase World Champions in a never-before-seen showdown. The winner of each contest walks away with a USD $50,000 prize.
