Professional Fighters League (PFL) official results, photographs and quotes from the winners

Professional Fighters League (PFL) 3 will take place on Thursday, July 5 at the Charles E. Smith Center at The George Washington University.

Bojan Velickovic defeated Jonatan Westin by TKO (strikes) at 2:20 of the second round. The second round stoppage earned Velickovic five points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Velickovic:

“Everything went as planned. I didn’t celebrate too much because I know I have four more fights to win the championship. I told my trainer yesterday first round ko or second round TKO.”

Abus Magomedov defeated Danillo Villefort by TKO (strikes) at 3:37 of the first round. The first round stoppage earned Magomedov six points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Magomedov

“Winning felt good. After getting 6 points, I think everyone would feel good.”

Rex Harris defeated Andre Lobato by split-decision (28-29, 29-28 and 29-28) after three rounds. The split-decision win gives Harris three points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Harris:

“I’m glad that the refs caught the mistake and gave the victory to the right guy. But I’m partially responsible because I shouldn’t have even had such a close fight. I’m going to go back, get with my teammates, work on my craft figure out what I have to fix for my next fight this season.”

Louis Taylor defeated Anderson Goncalves by TKO (strikes) at 1:58 of the third round. The final round stoppage earned Taylor four points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Taylor:

“I dropped him in the second and got overzealous and went for the guillotine and he defended it well and whooped my ass the rest of the round. Then in the third I came out swinging and was able to end it.”

Bruno Santos defeated Sadibou Sy by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28 and 29-28) after three rounds. The decision win earns Santos three points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Santos:

“That is one of five done now! I got the win today, now brazil will get the job done in the World Cup tomorrow! I couldnt be happier right now, this is my time!”

Zoao Zeferino defeated Paul Bradley by knockout at 1:58 of the first round. The opening round stoppage earned Zeferino six points towards the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Zeferino:

“I’m a man of few words. Hard work pays off.”

Magomed Magomedkerimov defeated Herman Terrado by TKO (technical submission-rear naked-choke) at 4:54 of the first round. The opening frame stoppage earns Magomedkerimov six points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs.

Magomedkerimov:

“They underestimated me, that is what you get. I am here to prove something. I am the best as this, just wait and see.”

John Howard defeated Gasan Umalatov by submission (rear naked-choke) at 2:59 of the second round. The second period stoppage earned Howard five points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs in the middleweight division.

Howard:

“While up there, I thought, ‘This guy is a lot stronger than I thought.’ But I have my black belt in Brazilian Ju Jitsu, so I knew if I got him on the ground I could get him to submit. I was right.”

Shamil Gamzatov defeated Eddie Gordon by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 and 29-28) after three rounds. The decision win banks three points for Gamzatov towards the 2018 PFL Playoffs in the middleweight division.

Gamzatov:

“I anticipated a lot of trouble for myself considering ive never fought at 185 before. I was uneasy about this fight, the pace was challenging and I wasn’t 100%. Still I got the victory, now we wait for the next challenge. I am ready now/”

Rick Story defeated Yuri Villefort by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27 and 30-27) after three rounds. The decision win netted Story three points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs in the welterweight division.

Story:

“Going into this fight, I wanted to try to keep it on the feet but after I took my first punch, I had to change my strategy. I resorted to wresting. Then in between rounds, I felt like I was in pretty good shape. I just kept pushing because I’m fighting to win, I’m proving to myself that I’m not over the hill – and the grand prize is great motivation too!”

Pavlo Kusch defeated Abubakar Nurmagomedov by submission (rear naked-choke) at 1:23 of the second round. With the second round stoppage Kusch earns five points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs in the welterweight division.

Kusch:

“I want to thank everyone who supported me, especially my friend and corner, Kostia. Ukranians win despite everything. Russians had better support and resources, but we won, nevertheless.”

Ray Cooper III defeated Jake Shields by TKO (strikes) at 2:09 of the second round. The second period finish netted Cooper five points towards making the 2018 PFL Playoffs in the welterweight division.

Cooper:

“There was a lot of history going into that fight. I wanted to get back at Jake. He’s one of the toughest guys in sport. Stepping in to the cage, I was just getting into the zone. And now I’m already getting back to rehearsal for the next fight.”
